12V relay connection diagram

Read our guide to relays found in vehicle electrical systems. The terminals are COIL, COIL, COM, and NO, and NC. The square relay pinout shows how the relay socket is configured for wiring.

Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) Relay Diagram . The middle pin is the Common pin.

The Top Right pin is the Normally Opened switched pin.

The Bottom Right pin is the Normally Closed switched pin.

The Top and Bottom pins on the Left are the Relay Coil pins. That is: - Current = Voltage ÷ Resistance. So the current through the coil is 12v ÷ 330Ω = 36mA. Always check for any markings that indicate coil polarity. I wish to fit an alarm to my car through interior light but need to know how to wire relay ? Is this possible to wire from . Most of the relays work on 12V DC power supply.

Here, a transistor controls the 12V supply which goes to the Relay. As mentioned before, there is no actual need for transistor if you want to simply control the output by manually turning the 12V supply ON or OFF. The transistor comes into picture if . This voltage is called the operating voltage. Commonly used relays are available in different configuration of operating voltages like 6V, 9V, 12V , 24V etc.

The output section consists of contactors which . Relays are switches that open and close circuits electromechanically or electronically. Relays control one electrical circuit by opening and closing contacts in another circuit. Tips For Your First DIY Car Repair.
