Measurement of phase and frequency using cro

EEC4BTech IV year- Measurement Lab. LISSAJOUS FIGURE FOR FREQUENCY RATIO FINDING USING CRO F1:F2. Shape of these Lissajous pattern changes with changes of phase difference between signal and ration of frequencies applied to the deflection plates (traces) of CRO.

Which makes these Lissajous patterns very useful to analysis the signals applied to deflection plated of CRO. These lissajous patterns have two Applications .

The first picture is of the Lissajous figure formed by two AC voltages perfectly in phase with each other: .

ELE 2MEASUREMENT LABORATORY.

Measuring relative phase between oscilloscope traces using the time- difference method. Includes virtually all oscilloscopes. Scale each voltage channel so that each . Analogous to the CRO used for measuring the voltage, time perio frequency , peak voltage, peak to peak voltage and RMS voltage, we use Waveform Viewer, for measurement in EDWin. Time Period: - The time taken by an alternating voltage to complete one cycle is called its Time perio T. This video demonstrates how to measure the phase difference between two signals using the oscilloscope that is available in the EE1lab.

CRO to measure frequency and amplitude of voltage by using CRO and frequency generator circuit. In CRO the waveform is shown in d. In this video, we demonstrate how to make quick and simple phase shift measurements based on the Lissajous patterns using an oscilloscope with X-Y mode. Function Generator and CRO - Duration: 13:14.

To measure Amplitude,Time Period and frequency of waveform by using CRO - Duration: 3:10. In case complex Lissajous figure is obtaine the frequency of alternating voltage may be determined using the relation. It can measure various quantities such as peak voltage, frequency , phase difference, pulse-width, delay time, rise time, and fall time. The shift of trace from the horizontal line occurs which gives the measure of the magnitude of the d. They areproduced in an oscilloscope by connecting one signal to the vertical trace and the other tothe horizontal trace. Phase Measurements Using Lissajous Figures Lissajous figures are sometimes used for the measurement of phase.

Normally, an oscilloscope is an important tool in an electrical field which is used to display the graph of an electrical signal as it varies with respect to time. But some of the scopes has additional features apart from their fundamental use.
