Lineman climbing techniques

This video describes safe techniques for pole climbing , one of physical timbersports events that are part of the Southern Forestry Conclave. Preinspection of PPE and demonstration of climbing techniques for beginning climbers. Even those in pole climbing competition had to start somewhere. Maybe this video is where you start.


I got up today at 6:in the morning and was climbing the pole in my backyard.

I just had my interview with JATC and Im pretty sure they accepted me into the program.

In order to climb safely and efficiently, a lineman needs to understand and practice climbing techniques.

This program introduces two methods used for climbing wooden poles. This is my 8th day in linemen class at Warren County Career Center. An important part of Pole Climbing is knowing what equipment you nee how. After you have been issued your pole climbing gear, check that everything is correctly assembled. In my training, the individual student was responsible for assembling their own equipment.
